Lost in the media wash of Obama’s “Beer Summit” and the newest revelations of who tested positive in 2003 for Performance-Enhancing Drugs (here’s looking at you, Big Papi), is the mild outrage from the gay community at the University of Hawaii football coach, Greg McMackin.
At a press conference this week, McMackin brought up last years’ Hawaii Bowl, in which his Rainbow Warriors were plastered by Notre Dame, 49-21. At a banquet before the game, both teams performed a dance/cheer. The Warriors performed the now-famous Haka, while the Irish apparently just did a cheer. McMackin, who is apparently still sore about getting his ass handed to him by a down-and-out former college football power, referred to the cheer as a “little faggot dance.” This from a coach who stands on the sideline wearing a necklace of flowers during every home game.
Umm, okay. He’s not bitter at all. Not at all.
To McMackin’s credit, he came back out a few minutes later and apologized for using the term, but it was broadcast to the rest of the world, anyway.
Just because I like to keep poking at things that bug others, here’s a little reminder to Coach McMackin of what he can’t seem to let go of:

Seems like those kids who performed that “little faggot dance” did the foxtrot all over your team, Coach.
