That’s right; EVER!

Here it is… Arguably the finest moment in television history.

The set up:

After seeing piles of fanmail for Stimpy and none for him, Ren gets very sad, but Stimpy decides to make Ren president of his fan club. A position that drives him mad…

Ren: I… I was nice today. NICE to all of those insipid little monkeys, answering thier STUPID letters. My hands… DIRTY!
(Scrapes his hands.)THE DIRT WON’T COME OFF!
(screams)
Ren: President! What a joke. President! President of what? HIS fan club! How they love him! Look at him, lying there asleep. The idol of millions… (whipering)is a FOOL!
Ren(sing-song) Lying silly little fool.
Ren: How easily I end the force… with these hands! These DIRTY HANDS! AND WITH THESE HANDS I HOLD THE FATE OF MILLIONS! They think he’s a god, but he’s as mortal as we. I KNOW! Just one quick TWIST… then it’s over. Just one!
(moving toward Stimpy)
Ren: Just… AAAAH! IT’S HAPPENING AGAIN! MY BRAIN! MY HOT, STINGING BRAIN!

Reminds me of that one psychic, she’s got a fan club of absolute, blithering, IQ of 50, no perception morons. I took one look at her blog and said “Oh to Hell with this!” and never returned.

I loved this show as a kid, it was just beyond twisted. It makes Cow and Chicken look like Hello Kitty.

This is by far my favourite Ren & Stimpy scene too. I haven’t been able to find a video online of it anywhere though (thankfully I have it on dvd). I’m glad I’m not the only person in the world who realises it’s brilliance .

One of the best pieces of animation I’ve seen. And everything is just right, the text, facial expressions, the music. The part where you only see his head and hands and hear his devilish voice still creeps me out a bit, as well as the burning in terror part. Today, this stuff would never pass any children’s channel’s policy.
