Try to ignore the fact that Sarah Palin’s jacket is turned up to 11 and notice what her small daughter (I’m assuming, Piper) is doing with her middle finger. That’s not parenting that we can believe in.
I was always brought up with the belief that, when you’re in a public place, the way that you act reflects upon your entire family, because they’re the one’s that raised you and you’re the fruit of their best (or worst) efforts.
Case in point; when a certain public figure takes a principled stand for abstinence-only education and against abortion (even in the case of rape) and then doesn’t think that their beliefs led to their daughter getting knocked up while in high school and unmarried. A bit hypocritical, perhaps?
UPDATE: In response to the comment that the upturned finger is, the little girl’s index finger, I enlarged and isolated the picture to show that it is, in fact, her middle finger.
Count the knuckles. Pinky finger, ring finger, MIDDLE FINGER, index finger.

So, shame on you, sir.
(just to clarify, I really don’t give two shits about the cultural significance of Sarah Palin’s daughter giving the bird to another child. I just think that it’s incredibly rude, ill-mannered and more than a little funny.)
