As the Olympic Torch made its way through Paris this morning there was much controversy. Protesters lined the streets, chanting for Tibetan freedom from Chinese oppression. Many attempted to extinguish the eternal flame. Some police officers did, in fact, extinguish it, while other police officers simply practiced their runs for the X-Games.

No. Seriously. The police officers in the French capital city were on roller blades. Inlines. Fruit boots. Call ‘em what you want. They were inline skating to protect the international symbol of good sportsmanship and fidelity.

The flame is supposed to make its way across San Francisco and hopefully there will be no human rights violations nonsense - unless, of course, people are going to address the true mongers of ill will: Paris police. In America our police drive cars; big oil-guzzling, pedestrian-smooshing cars.

There is no human rights offense as grievous as grown men inline skating, so I am now protesting the Parisian police.
