The Macy’s Day Thanksgiving parade has officially jumped the shark. If you were watching it this morning (and we all know that you were) you may or may not have noticed, through your pre-turkey gorging haze, this little nugget:

So, it’s official, I’m never shopping at Macy’s. Not even for socks or undershirts. Not even if you paid me.
If there’s one thing that us Internet geeks hate, it’s when the real world starts to appropriate our memes months, even years after the fact. It’s akin to your parents trying to slip the word “gnarly” into a sentence, just, y’know, like it’s an every day thing. It’s just awkward and wrong and more than just a little irritating.
